The Christmas Offering helps to fund Regional ministry throughout the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The work of being present with congregations at times of transition and celebration are some of the most important times in the life of the church. A recent celebration at Bardwell Christian Church marked the twenty-year anniversary of their new building.
The contractor who worked on the building and helped design it, had tears in his eyes as he spoke of the simple beauty of this holy place. He spoke about the thought and love that went into incorporating the gentle curve on the back of the elder chairs into the spacious curves of the windows of the new building.
Being there, hearing what was so meaningful to this congregation, is what makes regional ministry vital. Taking the time to be present, to be a witness to the fine work that congregations do is a way of supporting and strengthening ministry all along the way. Your CCK Staff represents the whole church when we are present at these milestone events. Thank you for your gifts to the Christmas offering this year! It is what makes our presence on your behalf possible.
