CAMP SUNDAY 2026
We’re planning for a great summer at Camp Kum-Ba-Ya and Camp Wakon’ Da-Ho. The 2026 dates are set, and we encourage you to dedicate March 22 (or another date this spring) as Camp Sunday!
We’ve created materials to help your church spread the word about our great camps and this year’s camp theme–“In The Wilderness.”

Here are a few ideas for promoting our camping ministries in your congregation:
- In February and early March, promote Camp Sunday with social media graphics and printable posters.
- Design a camp-themed display or bulletin board with the posters, and camp pictures. Photos may be downloaded from on our Facebook pages (https://www.facebook.com/KentuckyKBY and https://www.facebook.com/CampWKDH).
- Play the 2025 camp videos in worship or as a presentation to a group or gathering in your congregation. Then, link the video to your church’s website or social media page and invite others to share it.
- In church announcements, highlight our specialty camps, like Eighter’s Camp at Wakon’ Da-Ho and Sailing Camp at KBY.
- Distribute our camp brochures and postcards to children, youth, and adults in your church, or include them in your spring emails and deliveries. Offer prizes to those who register by the end of Camp Sunday.
- As a Moment for Mission or a Call to Stewardship, recruit experienced campers (preferably from different generations) and counselors to speak in worship or create brief testimony videos for worship about the meaning camp has brought to their faith lives, and encourage church members to think of those beyond the congregation that they could invite to camp.
- Invite experienced campers to share their stories in Sunday school, youth group, and/or through your church’s print and social media.
- Set camper and counselor recruiting goals for your congregation and publicize them. Display the count as you go.
- Include a bulletin insert in your digital or print worship bulletin on Camp Sunday and the following Sundays.
Are there unique, creative ways that your congregation might reach out to new campers this year? Together, we can grow our camping ministry and share the love of Christ with a new generation.
