The Christian Church In Kentucky is blessed to have two Disciples’ related undergraduate institutions as partner institutions. Transylvania University is consistently rated as one of the top tier liberal arts schools in the southeastern part of the United States. Within most of the congregations of CCK you will find Transylvania graduates who serve in major leadership roles in the life and witness of the congregation. Over many decades, many of the CC(DOC)’s best pastoral and lay leaders are graduates of Transylvania. This is in part because of Transylvania’s commitment to developing the character of the students as well as their minds. This makes for outstanding citizens for our nation and the Realm of God.
For many years Transylvania has hosted Transy n’ TEAM (Totally Excited About Ministry). This event was co-developed by CCK and Transylvania. Its purpose is to give Disciples high school students who experience a call to ministry a campus experience with their peers. The weekend campus experience has a ministry focus interwoven with a lot of fun.
Transylvania faculty and staff participate in many of the regional ministries and provide excellent leadership to their congregations and to CCK.
