CCK » Pastoral Support
CCK has nearly 500 ordained, commissioned and licensed ministers. These men and women serve as congregational ministers, associate ministers and in more specialized ministries with youth, children, music and/or pastoral care. These individuals serve as hospital, hospice and military chaplains. They serve as teachers in our institutions of higher education, directors of community ministries and in other non-congregational settings of ministry.
These men and women are called by God to serve in these various vital ministries. In all cases they are serving the faith-based needs of others in some capacity. God rewards God’s called servants with many blessings of ministry. Ministry also demands large quantities of emotional, spiritual and physical energy from its ministers. Over time this can take a toll on the minister and his/her family.
Your CCK Staff takes very seriously its care and nurture of the ministers under our care. This occurs in several ways:
- Each CCK Staff member is assigned districts for which they provide pastoral oversight and care for the ministers in their districts. Staff members work hard to be the “pastors to the pastors” and their families.
- Each month ministers gather with the ministers in their districts for fellowship and support. These gatherings allow for mutual care and support.
- An additional system of support was launched in 2009 through our Regional Pastoral Visitors ministry. Twenty-two of our retired ministers have volunteered to assist the CCK Staff in their care and support of ministers and congregations in their assigned districts.
- CCK Staff members assist ministers in finding specialized care and support when those needs arise.
