REGIONAL MEN’S MINISTRY INVOLVES TWO MAJOR EVENTS

The Kentucky Regional Men’s Chorus

Men from all over the state join together for the Kentucky Regional Men’s Chorus (KRMC) retreat in February of each year. In 2011, close to 100 men were in attendance. These men gather to learn new music, enjoy food and fellowship and perform at least on Sunday morning in local Disciples church as part of the Sunday morning worship. In 2011 the retreat was held at the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park.

The Kentucky Regional Men’s Chorus also performs at special functions as requested. In 2010 they sang at the Association of Disciples Musicians event in Lexington and also at the Kentucky Governor’s Prayer Breakfast in Frankfort.

If you are interested in purchasing the current KRMC CD, “Give Us A Song,” send your name and address along with $22 to Christian Church In Kentucky, 1125 Red Mile Rd., Lexington, KY 40504.

Great appreciation goes to John Opsata, director, Brad Herndon, accompanist, and Rick Jouett, the Regional representative as well as the Men’s Executive Steering Committee.

The Regional Men’s Spirituality Retreat

This retreat has traditionally been held at St. Meinrad Retreat Center in the summer and is a smaller, more intimate group. Leadership varies but always has a theme of spiritual life. This past year it was led by CCK General Minister, Greg Alexander.
