In the wake of economic distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Week of Compassion initiated two grant programs. Household Solidarity Grants for Income Loss provide grant funds to households in Disciples congregations that have experienced financial hardship resulting from the pandemic and that do not qualify either for unemployment benefits or for stimulus payments through the CARES Act.

Relief Ministry Support Grants provide grant funds to Disciples-related food ministries that have experienced increased demand due to COVID-19.

New Century Fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky Islanders Christian Church in Walton, and United Community Christian Church in Covington received Household Solidarity Grants for Income Loss. St. Matthew Area Ministry, a partner with Beargrass Christian Church in Louisville, received a Relief Ministry Support Grant.
